Stichting Girls Behind Bars Events, organizer of the Masters & Teens Throwdown, located at Spaarne 65B, 2011CG Haarlem, The Netherlands, is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Personal data we process

We process the following personal data when you register for or participate in the Event, or when you contact us:

  • First and last name

  • Gender

  • Date of birth

  • Telephone number

  • E-mail address

  • IP address, browser and device type

  • Information about your activities on our website (via cookies/analytics)

  • Other information you actively provide (e.g. via forms, correspondence, or Competition Corner account)
     

We do not intentionally collect data from persons under 16 years without parental consent. Parents are encouraged to monitor their children’s online activity.
 

2. Purpose and legal basis

We process your data for the following purposes:

  • Registration & participation in the Event (legal basis: performance of contract)

  • Communication about changes, logistics or emergencies (legal basis: performance of contract)

  • Newsletters and marketing (legal basis: consent)

  • Website optimization and statistics (legal basis: legitimate interest, anonymized analytics)

  • Legal obligations such as tax record keeping (legal basis: legal obligation)
     

3. Data sharing

We only share your data if necessary for:

  • Execution of the Event (e.g. Competition Corner, our event registration partner)

  • Compliance with legal obligations

  • With your explicit consent
     

Competition Corner is based in the USA. We ensure appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
 

4. Retention period

We retain personal data no longer than necessary:

  • Registration & event data: up to 2 years after the Event

  • Financial/administrative data: 7 years (Dutch tax law)

  • Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe
     

5. Cookies

We use only functional and anonymized analytical cookies. Marketing or tracking cookies are only placed with your consent. You can manage or delete cookies via your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for more details.
 

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data

  • Correct your data

  • Request deletion

  • Restrict or object to processing

  • Withdraw consent (e.g. for newsletters)

  • Data portability
     

Requests can be sent to mastersthrowdown@outlook.com. We respond within 4 weeks. For verification we may ask for proof of identity (with photo, MRZ, BSN blacked out).

You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
 

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against misuse, loss, unauthorized access or disclosure.
 

8. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated to comply with legal changes or operational needs. The latest version is always available on our website.
